New Del Rey Field Deputy

New C.D. 11 Field Representative for Del Rey
By Chris Nevil. October 2006

Nicole Velásquez has joined the office of City Councilman Bill Rosendahl as the field representative for the Del Rey and Mar Vista communities. She replaces Kathryn Frengs, who has left for Paris to pursue a Masters degree in International Marketing. Nicole graduated from UC-Berkeley with a double major in Political Science and Ethnic Studies. As a Los Angeles native, she returned to the area after graduating and participated in the AFL-CIO Union Summer program as an intern with UNITE HERE Local 11. Before joining the Rosendahl staff, she worked at New Economics for Women, a prominent affordable housing developer, as the Executive Assistant to the organization’s CEO and Executive Director. Nicole was born and raised in the District 11 region. Her family settled in the area over 50 years ago and many of her relatives still live in the Mar Vista and Del Rey neighborhoods. She can be reached at the Councilman’s Westchester office, at (310) 568-8772.
