The
monthly meeting, which was very brief, was conducted by Bob DeCosentine. Officer
Beacham was on vacation.
We assembled
in the Will Call room, which is undergoing renovation, as are many other areas
of the police station.
As far as crime, our area has been quiet
Susan Wagner, of the City Attorney’s Office, was a surprise guest. In
the past she regularly attended our monthly meetings, but due to additional
duties she can no longer be present on a regular basis. Recently she has had
some health problems but seems to be doing better.
Susan reminded us that just because she is no longer able to attend our monthly
meetings on a regular basis does not mean she cannot help us with problems.
Attendees were told to feel free to phone her at the City Attorney’s Office,
or phone the City Attorney’s office directly when there are agenda items
that fall under their jurisdiction.
Several meeting attendees advised Susan of problem areas in the community. It
appears squatters have moved onto a vacant lot at the corner of Inglewood and
McDonald.
An inquiry was made concerning the vacant house on Wier Street. These matters will be turned over to the City Attorney’s office, via Susan.
An attendee complained of a neighbor hosing dog feces from her yard onto the
sidewalk. Since it is a County matter, Susan advised her to phone the Health
Department.
Rachel who normally attends our monthly meetings, was absent as she is taking
some time off for training to become a volunteer at Pacific Division.
Respectfully submitted,
Kathy Brier
