Officer Vic Dennis, Watch Commander, stopped in to introduce himself to meeting attendees. He informed us there is a service for traffic problems in our area called Directed Enforcement.

Input From Meeting Attendees:
An attendee reported the driver of a car on Inglewood Blvd. consistently peels rubber. It has been going on for several years now. Within the last month there have been two accidents on Inglewood Blvd. that appear to be “screech and hit” – done on purpose. The Taco Bell property at Inglewood and Venice Blvd. is covered with graffiti.

Officer Llanes warned meeting attendees to be aware of distraction burglaries. These burglars look for elderly people who live in a residence, knock on their door and make up an excuse to go into their back yard, for example, looking for their lost cat. While the elderly resident is in the backyard a second or third suspect burglarizes the home.

Officer Llanes informed attendees that the DWP does not make house calls and that they should use craftsmen who are reputable or recommended by someone they trust to do work in their homes.

School, children are hanging out at the café at Braddock & Centinela after school, causing problems.

One meeting attendee reported that a motor bike going 100 MPH went down his street.

There was a discussion regarding hit and run car accidents. If there is no witness to identify the person who hit your car it is a called a misdemeanor hit and run. For a person to be charged with hit and run, someone needs to identify the person who hit your car. West Traffic Division handles all accident investigations. Phone them and ask to speak to the detective handling the investigation when trying to get the identity of the person who did it.

Respectfully submitted,
